Daniel Serfass was a former QYWC wrestler who tragically passed away in 2009
His family generously set up a fund for QYWC to be able to honor Dan by providing funds for all wrestlers to fully participate and enjoy the sport as much as he did.
In the words of the Serfass family:
" As a family, we choose QYC to receive the benefits of this Daniel Serfass Memorial Fund because we believe that wrestling is a great sport.
Daniel wrestled for 11 years from grade school through high school. He was not always the best wrestler nor was he the worst. However he did contribute to a team; a team where each young man's individual efforts completed the "whole". A team where young men and boys learned life lessons including; respect and dignity of self and as shown to others. A competitive mindset and a discipline of mind and body.
They were also taught how to be responsible for their actions, words and behaviors. We were part of a team where extended families were formed and friendships were made that still remain. We watched these children grow up to be responsible adults, possessing the qualities they learned with QYC. These were days of many good times and great memories. We hope your time with QYWC is well spent for you and your families."
All proceeds of the Daniel Serfass Memorial Fund go to benefit the Quakertown Youth Wrestling Club
The past two seasons, the Daniel Serfass Memorial fund donated the hooded sweatshirts that each QYWC wrestler received, Daniel’s racing number "121" is on each wrestlers sweatshirt sleeve in his memory.
Also, the Daniel Serfass Memorial fund has paid for each of our first year wrestlers registration fee since 2012.
In past years, the Daniel Serfass Memorial Fund has aided QYWC families with the cost of wrestling shoes, headgear, entry fees, registration fees and entry into wrestling camps and clinics.
